Suspension Options for Non M Z4s

I have been researching suspension options for my Z4 3.0si Coupe. I am looking for a basic coilover or a strut and spring combo for around $1000.00 ideally a little bit under. The car will not be tracked.I will take it down some twisty roads and I found that a basic suspension like the Bilstein PSS kit I had on my E46 was all I needed. I spent a lot of time browsing the web and emailing sponsors, and I thought a thread like this might be useful for other Z4 owners. Also if you know of any other options or better pricing please post it up in this thread.

Option 1Bilstein HD Shocks (Front and Rear) $569.80 Shipped
H&R Sport Springs $245.07 + Shipping
Total Approximately $814.87

Option 2
H&R Coilover Kit (ECS Tuning) $1131.09 Shipped

Option 3KW V1 Coilovers (ECSTuning) $1243.98 Shipped

Option 4Koni Sport $749.29
H&R Sport Springs $245.07 + Shipping
Total Approximately $994.36 Shipped

option 5: my lightly used eibach springs for $100.00 plus shipping

but seriously, the koni/eibach is the combo to have in regards to springs/shocks. when the h&r settle they are really low. its almost impossible to find a photo of non m z4 on h&r from the side. the rear end sits lower

Haha...if the shocks were so old (about 70k on them) I would consider your springs. My old 3 series was on the lowest settings on Bilstein pss coils on New England roads so being low isn't aproblem.

Im sorry i meant eibachs with koni yellows. the problem with the h&r is not the drop (i love low cars) the rear end is down much further than the front. when you see a pic from the side the car will be slanted. what size wheels/tires do you have?

I have 19" wheels. The front tires I think are 235/40/19 and the rear are 255/35/19.

i dont think hd's do well with lowering springs. so if you cancel out option 1 youre left with the choice of adustability. 2 and 3 are height adjustable but youre stuck with pre determined damping. 4 youre stuck with the ride height but you can adust the ride. if youre not going to track..I would go with option 4 plus you can get the konis on ebay for a bit cheaper or work a package deal with a sponsor?

Garage List
+1 on eibachs as I've had good experience with them before on my VW.

Another few options to throw your way are Tein and Bilstein PSS9 coilovers. Also, TCK and Ground Control if you want to specify your own spring rates for your coilovers.

I wasn't planning on doing everything. I was going to do springs and struts, maybe rsm and front control arms. I wasn't going to get camber plates though.

On my old 3er I had pss coils and that was just fine for me.
