Just Ordered Winter Wheels / Tires.... Will I be prepared for Tri-State storms??

Hey guys,

So I just purchased a set of winter wheels/tires off tirerack, and I am just gauging your opinion on whether you think I'll be good to drive in Northeast winters.

Wheels:
F 19 x 8.5 Breyton Race GTS Matte Gray
R 19 x 9.5 Breyton Race GTS Matte Gray

Tires
F 235/35R19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60
R 255/35R19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60

and of course, BMW center caps and Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors..

Anyone have any experience with these wheels, tires, or combination of both? I was nervous about getting a 19" for winter, but figure the wideness factor was not that much different for 18's, so I went with it.

Also, this was the CHEAPEST 19" setup from Tirerack... Hell, they didn't even have any other tires to choose from.

Great set up.

Interesting read in latest (Jan 2011) Road&Track Side Glances by Peter Egan. BMW 325 w/ winter tires handling Wisconsin blizzard with ease. Sidenote - one of the few typos that Egan has ever had: "driftng"

TireRack + UPS never ceases to amaze -- ordered some winter tires (Pirelli sottozero 240s) Wed and they arrived the next day.

You might have been better off with 17's -- I know the wider wheels look better, but the smaller wheels and taller tires bite through the snow and slush better.

When I had my E36 M3, I down-sized from stock 17 inch wheels to 16 inch BBS wheels for the winter. Had to look a bit for 16's that fit over the brakes, but they worked a treat in the slippery stuff.

Garage List
I went with 18x8 wheels and 225/40/R18 Michelin ICE tiers on all four corners and love it (photos and more details of my "Winter Set UP" in my garage photo album).
