Not using OEM tire sizes - quick questions
I know that 225/40/18 all around is more popular for winter, but the ws-70 aren't available in this size on tirerack only ws-60.
I was thinking of going with 225/45/18 this way I can get the newer. blizzak ws-70's. Now I have three quick questions regarding this change: 1) Would my speedometer now read slightly more accurate then before? Its reads about 63mph when I'm going 60 mph, so would that gap be reduced now? 2) What effect does this change have on the cars odometer? 3) Is there a 3rd tire size I could consider in which I might find some tires other then the ws-60 that I may like?

Re: 1 & 2 ... just plug your numbers (original tires and new) into the table above. It will give you the answer.
Re: 3 ... I am sure one of the Tire Reps here will help you out.

Yeah i plugged it in it says @ 60 my speedo will read 62... but when i searched up a couple threads on the topic people said the opposite effect would happen so I'm a bit confused.

Yeah, I think the opposite is correct. When you get bigger wheels the speedo will read less than the actual speed, because the wheel rotates less, but goes longer on each rotation.

In the two recommended sizes of 225/40R18 and 235/40R18 there is not yet a WS70. However Michelin makes the nearest comparable tire, the Xice Xi2 in 225/40R18.
