255/35R19 - Too big for winter?
I found a good deal on a set of DUNLOP Wintersport 3d's in ...
255/35R19 all 4 tires Now if I were to pick this up and mount them on a set of 8 or 8.5 inch wide wheels it would still cost me less then my 17 inch setup with the same tires off tirerack. Now my question is, would having such wide tires on a set of 19's put me at a significant/noticable loss in terms of traction for a winter setup?

255/35 is actually a tall tire. Running this in the front and rear will definitely cause some rubbing issues as well as most likely traction problems up front on the vehicle.
I would recommend going for a 225/235 tire setup all around or a staggered 255/30 in the rear for the proper fitment. -Charles@VMRWheels

Yeah, I thought it might be an issue, I was just getting an UNREAL deal on a set in that size so I thought I might jump on it.
