Recently bought 07 328xi - new member
Hi,
My name is Bill and I am a new member here as well as new to BMW ownership. I recently purchased a CPO 2007 328xi coupe 6spd SGM, bone stock. I've been looking around this forum for a couple weeks and like what I see. I came from a 2005 Acura TL 6spd that I came to pretty much hate. I didn't like the drive by wire and it was terrible in the snow. Low end power lacked as expected from a Honda. It was reliable but I needed a change. I'm extremely happy with the BMW, I feel like I can properly drive stick again, and it's great in the snow. I also like the powerband, much smoother and consistent. Also the ride is a bit firmer, something I've been missing. The only downside is I wish it had sport seats but that's minor. I don't have pics yet, I'm waiting for a memory card for my GoPro camera. I will have some up hopefully by the weekend. Anyway just wanted to introduce myself. |

Welcome Bill,
I too came from a 2005 TL. Too much torque steer, but I did love that car. BMW has it beat, no comparison. What a great car. Did you use Acurazine? Last edited by joed1; 12-29-2010 at 08:52 AM.. |

Welcome. I came from Honda/Acura world as well. Like you said, Acura's are very reliable, easy and cheap to maintain but not a fun car to drive and you feel disconnected from the car and road.

Joe,
Nice, clean ride. I don't have any pics of my car, they were on my old phone and it broke so I lost em all. Never uploaded to my garage on the 'zine. It was stock, NBP, with 20% (I think) tint. |

Thanks, yea I was looking at parts before I even actually saw the car in person. Maybe just a set of 189s, nice simple wheel. We will see how long that holds me over haha.

Welcome, I have the same car. Love it.
Something to think about is the warranty. Do you have an extended warranty? Your 4 year will expire soon. How many miles? Mine expires next month and they want ?about $3100 for 3 more years. I have to decide soon. |

With the CPO I get a further 2yrs 100k total miles. I'm good with warranty until 2013 or 100k mi. I've never been one to get extended warranties on anything to tell you the truth. I will give it some thought but most likely I won't do it. I also don't want to void any part of the warranty so I may wait or just search the forum to find out what's OK to do. |
