Here it is, the 6-Series coupe completly uncovered. I know I know, we've just posted pictures of a lightly camouflaged Alpine White coupe only an hour ago, but this literally just came across my desk. It has no camo on it whatsoever so it was worth sharing IMO.

This particular 6-Series seems to wear Space Gray paint and is probably a 640i, given the rounded exhaust tips and smallish wheels (not clear if those will be the stock wheels or if we are looking at winter wheels). Whatever wheels these are, they do not compliment the car at all. Fear not, the new 6 will come from the factory with some larger options which will transform the car, thats for sure!

The 640i will utilize the all new N55 TwinScroll turbocharged 6 cylinder engine producing 320HP and 450Nm of torque. The 650i will sit alongside the 640i and will house the same 4.4L twin turbo V8 as in the 550i and 750i that is good for a little over 400HP. Full specifications are available here.

The new 6-Series will be debuting at the Geneva Autoshow this spring (March 2011), and will come in both a 640i and 650i variants.

Looks great but someone please photoshop the wheels with 19s or 20s ASAP.

Is it just me or does these pictures make the new 6 look lame? Is it the wheels? I've never been a fan of the 6 series and this makes me even less of a fan.

I like it. However, not feeling the headlights or the thick window trim. I want to see this with M-sport kit and wheels.

Just nasty. I know it is a larger vehicle relative to the other lines, but look at the front and rear overhangs...decidedly un-BMW. I hope this company does not continue to whore itself out in the manner that it appears to be.

I noticed the ridiculously massive overhangs as well. It kills any sort of sporting pretensions the car might have.

Would've also liked to have seen a little less trunk and rear deck going on with that roofline, and of course the wheels aren't helping the car in any way.

It just looks "off" somehow. I think it's the rear half of the car that's bugging me. Those wheels and tires also look terrible, but I doubt those are final.

I was lucky enough to see this car in person at the Paris autoshow and I can tell you, photos really exagerate the overhangs alot. I think this is because photos basicly are 'flattening' out the curves along the sides. In person, the overhangs are not that large and the car just looks really low and wide, reminds me of a more curvaceous A5/S5 and something very much along the lines of the Aston Martin V8 vantage. It definitly oozes high end/sport when you see the car, a feeling I just never got with the E63 6-Series.

As always, wait until you see it in person before jumping off a cliff with assumptions

I really like it, apart from the wheels clearly. It feels sporty and elegant. Well done BM

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Long and low...
did they say 320 HP from an N55? Does that mean we will be able to buy a tune for other N55 powered cars from BMW?
