can i just replace my back tires?
My rears are getting worn, fronts OK. I have a staggered setup, but the diameter difference (when new) was less than 1%. Can I put new rubber on just the back, or will this foul the transfer case visa via, f'ed up diameter??

If the rolling diameter is still under 1% then you should be fine.

that's my point, how can I calculate that with tread wear on the front?

You can't, you're tires will never wear evenly. But if the remaining tires are ok you should be able to change without an issue. 2 mm isn't gonna make an issue

Isn't the circumference what he's looking for, not the "rolling diameter"?

Many will argue to change all 4 at once, and that there is no other option.
