Reset bluetooth

Is there any way to reset the bluetooth? Mine died a few days ago. No phone sees it. I tried everything - removed all devices from the list, searched from different bluetooth phones - nothing is found. It seems like the bluetooth module died, or "got frozen". Any advise other than "go to the dealer"? ;-)

Theoretically if you cut the power to the implementation it will boot up again afterwards in a clean state. The procedure will probably not reset it, but could cure a hang...

If I where you I would contact BMW!

I had issues with my Blackberry and my 550i. What finally worked was taking out the battery, waiting 30 seconds, reinstalling the battery, and starting it up again. Fixed the problems.

Taking out the battery to the phone or the car? Or both?

Went to the dealer. And... they tried with their phone and it worked perfectly well. Then I tried with mine and it worked as well. For a week I did everything with all the phones I could. I think I tried 4 phones and none was able to detect the car's bluetooth. Now the guy just came to the car, did nothing and it just worked. So now I have to wait until it dies again. Hopefully a long time

Correctly written software usually have fault recovery mechanisms incorporated. It could be simple timeouts to more elaborate schemas. Your bluetooth reset itself/resolved the deadlock or whatever. Hopefully you won't see it again...
