Tom Hesser BMW (Scranton, PA)
So far, my experience has been great. Sales staff have been very friendly and very helpful. There were absolutely no problems specially ordering my BMW (I tried specially ordering a car a year ago at a different dealership for a totally different car brand and it turned out to be a nightmare). The sales staff tried very hard to make sure I was totally satisfied with the deal, and called frequently to give me updates on the status of my order.
I haven't received the car yet (though that's BMW's fault for having slow ships carry the cars across the ocean ) but I'm very confident I'll be completely satisfied. Scranton is in reasonably short driving distance to from Philadelphia or New York, so if the bigger city folks seem to be giving you the run-around, maybe Scranton would be worth checking out. |

My experience at Tom Hesser was the exact opposite...
When I came in I was instantly forced into talking prices and when I mentioned a test drive I was told "this ain't rocky glenn" (an old theme park in the area). Needless to say, they did not get my business. Maybe the test drive thing seems weird (me wanting one) but I did not plan on special ordering or anything like that. This was my first car that I am purchased on my own and all I have driven to that point was used Subaru's so I was exploring many options. As for working with pricing - forget it, not a dime was coming off the sticker. |

Hmmm....now that I read this, I never really updated it.
I picked up my car in June, and it was only delayed about a week, but that wasn't the dealer's fault. My salesperson was great, and I had it in for service already (alarm installation) and the service dept was great. They didn't know about the slotted "vents" for the motion sensor, but I got all the documentation from this site and gave it to them and they happily switched the motion sensor from another car to mine. I suppose when I bought mine, they were more anxious to sell the car, but I guess demand is higher now because I had no problems negotiating. They gave me a great amount for my trade in, but of course that was almost a year ago. And the test drive part, I don't know. I didn't take a test drive. I knew I wanted it without a test drive. But even so, I couldn't have taken one because they weren't in America yet! |

Me too...born and raised in N.E. PA. The references to Froggy 101 and Rock 107 are cool. They also casted the actors great too...a bunch of "hennas"! Scranton if full of 'em.
