Essential XI mods?
I have my basics covered
Are there anything else you would describe as a pretty important upgrade? I was thinking of getting a shortshifter, but not sure that i would really notice much of a difference. Thoughts? What she looks like so far: |

Yeah, i will look at other software options in a year when my warranty is up. Also waiting on warranty to expire for getting down pipes. Just seeing if i missed anything.

Bridgestone Potenza's? really? IMO that is the worst possible tire out there. They don't grip that wel, terrible in rain and the tread doesn't last long at all either. I have had several tires over the years on performance 19's and IMO the Toyo Proxie T1R is the best bang for the buck. Great grip in wet and dry conditions and they last a long time.
just my .02

If you have to ask that question then most likely you will not need the V3. I know ppl with V1 who never adjusted anything with it. IMO unless you race a lot then V3 is useless, unless of course you just want it cause its cool.

Hey skow, beautiful car! Nothing is going to change your car more than tires and suspension. Period.
Potenzas are OK but not great, except for it's RFT "safety". With a tread wear rating of 140 they are a soft compound (softer than even Yokohama Advan AD08s et al., read below) and grip pretty well at the track, but with a stiff sidewall they are a little tricky at the limit (read: max traction tire slip angles). Again I think the stiff sidewalls "deaden" the tires' feel somewhat. I've actually 'killed' 6 Potenzas at the track. They also squeel a lot at the track, and are especially noisy on highway after 1/2 through their useful life. They do ok in rain when new, but again after 1/2 of useful life they become quite bad. Enough about that tire, there are better! If you can afford it, I recommend the AD08s, or get Michelin PS2s or Bridgestone RE-11s. I'm on 3rd set of fronts and 2nd set of rears on the AD08 tires and they make you a star. Fantastic grip and even better feedback, I can stay at the limit all day. Great for highway and canyon carving too of course and even pretty good in rain. Get the PS2s if you want best rain performance. As for KWs, get V1s if < 4 track days a year, otherwise V3s. If you become a junky like me, you need to get camber plates as well.

Exhaust isn't really a "must have", it just allows more HP with my tune. |

What are the merits of coilovers versus matching Shocks & Springs? Bilsteins w/H&R or Eibachs seem pretty popular, and the price for the combo is great. Is it just a matter of preference or is there really a difference that justifies coilovers? aside from the adjustable height (and stiffness for v3) factor of course.
