drag strip Q

just wanted to know how many with a auto start off in 2nd gear vs m1 never tried it myself but thought maybe next time i go down to the strip im going to try it out and see if i can post up some better times. for those that have tried it how much better did your times get?

Unless you plan on never putting your foot to the floor, the car will NEVER start out in 2nd. Even in manual mode it will "kick-down" to the lowest possible gear as soon as your foot goes past the kick-down switch.

yeah i know plan was to not put it down to the floor because of the switch read people with auto have done this at the strip just wanted to know who all has tried it and if they posted better times by doing it

If you don't plan on putting the foot all the way down to the floor eventually, how exactly do you expect to go FAST at a drag strip?

plan on just doing it till it's out of 2nd so it won't downshift to 1st during the launch after that i can floor it. Read it's the best way to get better times at the strip for a auto
