Im looking at valentine one radar detectors and the one one valentineone.com is priced at $399 https://store.valentine1.com/Store/

but when I go on amazon its priced at $499 http://www.amazon.com/valentine-one-.../dp/B000U89KGW

why the price difference?

No difference. It appears the Amazon vendor is either too stupid to realize that actual price or just trying to see how many people will buy it for an extra $100. Just buy it direct.
