Yep. Big deal. Give us the prices the seppos pay then i'll sit up and applaud. Yeah, I know, different markets, volumes, blah blah. Interesting about the M3 'Prime' they have a sedan in Auto Classic and it's $20k cheaper than standard - I wonder what's 'missing' to get it down that much?

That M3 is probably missing M-drive and EDC. I could live without EDC but not the little M button.....

I am a little jealous Jeefy, but im afraid P plate laws do not allow me to drive such a car.
And no, i will not go to the trouble of applying for an exemption. No chance the RTA would allow me to drive an M3 to uni and back. |

Sorry Jeef, no idea where I got M3 'Prime' from Although BMW could release an M3 'Sub prime' if things really slow down, about $100k? That might entice one or two bogans into the showroom..

Bogan: MATE! I narrowed it down to two cars i like. 1st is HSV GTS and the 2nd is the BMW M3. Sales Rep: Well sir the BMW M3 is a superior track car that has the same torque as a 135 and 335. Would you like to save some money and just buy either of them? Bogan: I am a V8 guy. You know...sounds better when i rip it out on the main street of dubbo. Sales Rep: Do you want to pay double the GTS? Bogan: FARK NO! IM just a plumber mate! I'll stick to a Maloo. |

Just went to BMW Aus site, specials are 323i w/ innovations for 64800 and 325i innov for 69800! 325i sounds enticing but 320d is faster and easily tune-able.

Hi guys
Mmmmm...interesting article but when you start adding in the hidden costs for say a 325i like $6K for on-roads, $2.5k for stealer delivery, $1.5K for metalic paint and then extras like sun roof or bigger alloys the true costs for a decent BMW are no where near the base price. It is clear there is a reduction but not sure it could be said it is compariable to other choices in the Australian market - eg Audi. I think the biggest thing BMW needs to start focusing on is the price of parts and add ons - there is just no point buying anything from a BMW stealer in Australia at the minute given the exchange rate we are getting. it really highlihts how much they are ripping us guys off. That's my 10 cents worth..... Hope you are having a great weekend |
