staggered setup?

so, to my knowledge, staggered setup is when rear tires are larger than front ones?
for example,
front: 225/45/17
rear: 255/40/17
or something like that, correct?
i heard it's usually the factory setting for rear wheel drive cars.
my question is, is it okay for x-drive cars to run on staggered set up? i'm looking for style 161 rims but it's damn hard to find a square set..
just wondering.
let me know, thanks

-Josh

Did you search in the wheel/tire section or the XI section?

i have.
there are mixed opinions tho.
i asked my service guy, and he says it will most likely not be good for the car, then some of the people say because even the x-drive usually uses 70% power to rear and 30% to front, it shouldn't be a problem to run on staggered set up.
kind of confused?
