Pro Strength Diesel Fuel Booster - More Power..

Anyone here tried this Nulon product - sounds great, but I am a little dubious.

Pro Strength Diesel Fuel Booster

Nulon Pro-Strength Diesel Fuel Booster is specifically formulated to increase the cetane number of diesel fuel by improving the combustion quality of diesel fuel.

Engines have a minimum cetane number requirement that depended upon engine design and the manufacturer. If the diesel fuel used does not have good combustion quality or low cetane number premature auto ignition can occur during the compression stroke.

Nulon Pro-Strength Diesel Fuel Booster substantially increases the cetane number diesel fuel, thus reducing premature auto ignition. Nulon Pro-Strength Diesel Fuel Booster will raise the cetane level of diesel fuel providing better starting, reduced engine noise, reduced smoke and particulates, and increased power and acceleration.

Many high-performance modern diesel engines benefit from high cetane number diesel ensuring a shorter ignition delay. This results in maximum performance, faster acceleration smoother power delivery and improved fuel efficiency.

Benefits:
■ Increase cetane number by up to 8
■ Gain peak performance & acceleration
■ Obtain maximum horsepower
■ Easier cold starting
■ Reduces engine misfire
■ Reduces exhaust emissions
■ Improved fuel economy
■ Safe for DPF filters

Anyone??

What is guaranteed to work and i did this the other day, you need pour in a bottle of hummus. You also need to make sure the hummus you use is watery, if it isn't you can add a few drops of water and mix it around a bit. The gain is suppose to be 30kw and 50nm. Impressive!

And how have you found it? Much better?

Sounds a bit radical to me... not sure I want to add home made remedies to a $80k car??

If BMW approve of it, then I would say go for it. However, I do not think they will.

All of these dozens of additive companies are trying to sell their product with the best possible spin. Just like so many heavily processed 'food' products you buy at the supermarket that claim to be anything but what they really are.

You are very correct in being dubious. Waste of your hard earned $$$$
Cheers

Sounds like witchcraft!

I remember watching a comparison with petrol - 91/95/98 as well as petrol with additives. With additives in 98, a dyno run showed less power compared to the same car running on just 98. Can't remember the car, might have been a WRX I think.

Put them in the boot. What you lose with more weight, you gain with more traction from the rear wheels.

=====

Cetane boosters can work, but only if the fuel you are putting in to start with has a low cetane number. Since the fuel you buy meets minimum standards there is probably minimal or no benefit in using a cetane booster.

Also your BMW fuel filler cap has "no additives" printed on it.

After a week and a half of using the humus formula, i must admit there is pretty insane performance gains. SBC and Rivenscyr can back me on this as they were lucky enough to get taxi'd around by me.

As for the Nulon... put a bottle in a tank of BP Ultimate...

I feel NO power gains at all and it feels exactly the same?? Bloody snake-oil.

To be fair though, I do genuinely believe it idles a lot quieter and sounds.. smooth at idle.

But as for Power gains.... Id say - don't waste your money.
