18" Wheel Offset on 323i E90

Hi All,

I am quite new to playing with offsets and knowing what will and will not work. I am looking for 18" rims. I have an opportunity to get some Beyern Rapp wheels for a good price. The specs are:

8.5 et30
8.5 et15

I understand that the et15 wheels will sit further out than the et30. Thus, I would throw them on the back. Are there any other factors that I am missing here or can I just simply throw them on as such. This deal is time sensitive so I would appreciate a quick and clear response.

FYI: Everything is stock on the car, but I will upgrade suspension at some time.

Thanks,
Nima

It's like running a 9.5" wheel with 28 offset. I know a lot of people run 9.5" wheels with 30 offsets on lowered cars so taking that into consideration

I think you should be ok, if you are stock height.

I am at stock height right now but will change that with a new suspension down the road. Is the offset going to affect the ride in any way.

Offset doesn't effect ride at all, just might cause rubbing if it's too agressive.

If you get a slight rub just roll the fender a bit, but I think you'll be okay.

What tire will you be running?

Tires are yet to be purchased. I notice a lot of people putting wider tires in the back. What do you recommend?

8.5 +15 can work in rear. Its about 5mm more aggressive then a usual 9.5 +33. I would probably recommend sticking with a 235 tire so it sits square on the 8.5" wheel. Anything wider will make the side walls balloon and cause rubbing issues on the outside.

Thanks. For the info. Would narrower than 235 be better as well or should I stagger the fronts and backs.

I'd do 235 all around.

well. the old adage goes, "you snooze you lose". I missed the deal on these rims. They were brand new rapps for $530 shipped. The hunt continues. It's hard to shell out a G when you find deals like that.

I guess I didn't miss out after all. The seller re listed on ebay and I got the wheels NIB for $585 shipped. Can anyone suggest tires for this. I like the idea of 235 all around. Can I get decent tires for around $500?

Hi All,

Submitting my request again. I am going to go with 235/40/18 tires to keep it close to stock wheel size. Any suggestions on tires. I would like to keep it in the $575-$650 for tires. What do you guys suggest?
