2011 E90 Window Trim for Tweeter

Hi,

I am looking to replace the front speakers on my 2011 E90 with Rainbow ones, but I need to replace the window trim with one that has a hole for the tweeter.

I have been onto BMW and they have given me a couple of part numbers, but, they dont come with a speaker grille.

Parts are:

Standard BMW Part No:7258575 + 576

Harmon Kardon PArt No: 7270891 + 892

Another firm has advised to use a different part (51337171201 + 202), but, BMW are advising this is only listed for E90 up to 2009.

Does anyone know if this will also fit to 2011 model? If not, are there any other parts that would be reccomended?

Thanks

Martin

Those are the parts I bought and installed on my 2010 e90. I don't think anything has changed for the 2011.

Hi

I've just checked real OEM and it is in fact now listing the parts 7258575 & 7258576 for 09/10 on. Don't know what the difference is but they're cheaper?

I'm just about to order mine as well (build month 12/10 model F024222) and was going to order the parts 51337171201 & 51337171202 but will go for the newer items now. The only thing I would say is don't forget the inner foam seals as well 51337120659 & 51337120660.

Matt

Actually, cancel that. You're quite right. They speaker grills are missing? I'm sticking with the parts 5133717121 & 51337171202

You don't need the foam inserts either. They're already in there.

Not sure what Rainbows you're trying to put in, but they probably won't just snap in. We mill the tweeters here in-house to give them the right OD and also a stepped shoulder so that they snap in to the tweeter sails. Otherwise, you'll have to do some significant modification to the sails and then find a way to make them stay in there; epoxy, hot glue or silicone.

The E90 has a little more room but the E92 is a PITA. totally achievable but it takes time and lots of being careful. Esp w the window.

I used Rainbow SLC 210 w tweeters in BMW sails.
BMW tweeter sails part number: 51 33 7 184 198 <L & R sails are the only parts needed
OP has an e90!

I'm having them fitted professionally, but thanks for the advice.

. Be careful. Many installers are quick to slap some silicone one there and call it a day
