Wheel Vibration Questions

I just had my wheels put on yesterday at BMW, they are 19x8.5, 19x9.5, at really slow speeds(traffic) and at around 80mph when i left off the gas and coast i am feeling a vibration in the pedals and in the steering wheel alittle. I checked and the wheels are hubcentric so i do not need to buy new rings.

Besides balancing them again, or checking the weights, etc. Is there anything else that could be done to fix it? Has anyone had this same problem and had it solved?

Thanks in advance.

The same thing is happening with my 19" csl's.Sometimes it does it and other times it doesnt. Its pretty annoying.Im going to get them rebalanced and I hope that fixes it.If it doesnt then I have a problem on my hands.

Does the problem persist after driving for a while? My new 19's do that on cold mornings but it goes away after the tires warm up.

again...i presume you have checked tire pressure yadda yadda...other than checking tire pressure...not sure you what else you can check...

when you are coasting straight on the highway...does the car pull to any particular side?

nope no spacers. I just got them installed at BMW yesterday so id LIKE to think that they would put the appropriate tire pressure in.

Im going back next week to have them rebalanced and if neccesary something called roadforcing the tires and wheels.

balancing...im almost 99% sure. didnt occur at first but then the vibrating began to be more noticable that even my passenger could see the steering wheel vibrate...waved it off...while cleaning the wheels over winter, noticed that i was missing some weights...go get it checked out

check tire pressure first. dealers are notorious about putting in the wrong tire pressure...altho this is usually on wheels that come on the car as they do not want the car to sit too long on the tires...

but still worth a shot.

.

balancing will likely resolve the issue. It could be a wheel defect ... heavy spot, out of round, etc.. but is unlikely with todays technology .. even if they are reps. good liuck

they said they can do a roadforce test with checks if the tires are bad, or if the wheels are out of whack, but it doesnt feel like its coming from just one tire, and what are the odds of all 4 wheels being bad. Im hoping just balancing again will solve.

My OEM wheels were completely vibration free. Zero problems with them. The new ones have a very minor vibration, only on cold mornings.

My 19" M6 Reps with new General Tires are vibrating when im driving at highway at 120km/hr +
I'll check my tire pressure tmr and if it still happens i will need to re-balance my wheels&tires.
I just did an alignment after i lowered the car with h&r sports, i believe i do not need to re-align my car from just putting on new wheels.
I do not have any spacers installed.

i have those same tires and had to get them roadforced because the guy said they were pretty out of shape, it was like an egg. If any of you are familiar with road force it is putting the wheels and tires in a machine to make sure they are circular, etc. I still the vibration but not as bad, im tempted to even get rid of these tires.

Besides the balance & aligment, it could be the Brake rotor also.

Vibrations on a cold morning?! It's the tires sitting on the ground and created a flat spot. It goes away after the tires warnup.

Hope this help.

Sounds like you said that they are hubcentric, but are the bore sizes matching up? If you already have centering rings, check to see if they were installed correctly. A shop recently installed them wrong on my car, and the rings were damaged when the bolts were tightened.
