Watkins Glen July 11-12 (SCDA)

So I finally got the car I've been lusting after - an '06 Z4MC. I had been tracking a lightly modified '05 Cooper S until now, and I'll be heading to Watkins Glen in three weeks for a two-day event with SCDA with the new car.

Moving from a FWD car with 187HP at the front wheel to a RWD monster with 330 at the crank (anyone know the wheel HP?) is a little daunting, but I'm really looking forward to it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

wheel HP is between 260 and 280. depending on the situation.

I strongly recommend pulling the pins on the front strut towers, and adjusting in as much negative camber up front as you can. Probably -1.5 or -2 on stock suspension

other than that, its the basic brake fluid, and pad upgrade

Otherwise, the stock car will understeer and fade the brakes a bit

thats all based on what I've read here.

Thanks for the quick reply. The car is also my daily driver, so would the negative camber have any drawbacks off the track?

Thanks! I'll get that adjusted before I go.

The car has a set of OEM pads up front with plenty of meat left on them; the rears look OK. I figure two days at WGI will get them down pretty good so I can switch over to something a little less dusty (Carbotech Bobcats) when I get home. Thanks to this board, I now know to check the brake ducts up front and pull the plastic piece for better flow. I don't do more than four or five track days a year, so I don't think I'll be doing a full duct kit.
