Looking for a new car.
I will be coming back from Korea by July. I am wanting to purchase a vehicle. I was at first looking at the 5 series e60's. I completely forgot about the 6 series. So i searched for some used ones online. I only have about 30,000ish I am willing to spend. My dilemma is between a standard transmission and an automatic. The only sticks i have found are the 645's at around 20-25000. In the same range are 650's with about the same mileage but only automatic. Do you guys recommend a 645 with manual transmission or a 650 with the automatic?

Depends on where and how you drive. A manual in a lot of city driving is a yawn. The self shift mode on the automatic serves the need to shift for most people, when they are in the mood to do it.
2nd and 3rd gen 6ers are GTs, not sports cars. Hope that helps.

Helps alot actually. Ya I'm not intending it to be a sports car. I will be stationed in Fort Hood next. The reasons i like a stick truely are as follows
1. Being able to shift when i want/need 2. I had one auto die on me and i was stranded. The last stick i had just push started it. 3. The most important reason. Not many people can drive a stick and it just helps avoid the can i drive it question from relatives and friends lol. |

I am thinking about selling my 2006 650i with only 17,000 miles. It has every single available option as well as an M6 exhaust and 20" M6 wheels. Looks exacltly like an M6 just the v8 instead of the v10. Other Mods include the roof being painted black, $2,000 sound system, and suede headliner. Will include 22" Lowenhart rims and tires that I also paid $8,000 for.. Car is flawless not a scratch. I can email you pictures if you'd like. I want at least $40,000 for it.
