Need Help installing tint protector on 335d

So, I got tint protector after I got my windows tinted and had multiple scratches which I couldnt stand.

I am skeptical installing this by myself and the tint guys said they wouldnt install it but they would re tint my window after I have felt in the door panels.

Does anyone have any experience doing this? Or Did you get it done from somewhere?

Thanks.

Its AW with the ZCW ZPP ZSP and I am on the pike all the time cuz I commute to Worcester.

I spoke to Matt from Luxury Details in Framingham and he said he would install them. So, I am thinking of dropping my car off for detailing and then the installation of felt.

Subscribed also, next car will have tint protectors for sure. Looking forward to hearing how the install goes with Matt.

No one here has installed felt in thier car here? There are a lot of BMW's here and as far as I know all tinted windows on E9X have this problem.

Either ways I will keep you all posted. BTW I got my tint done at Ziebart in Worcester and they have agreed to re tint the windows once I get the moleskin installed. I orignally got it at 35% all around but I am thinking of going darker to about 25%.

Anyone have trouble with the law or inspection here for darker tinit?

every year I have to run around and find a new place for my inspection sticker. I have 28% - 30% tint all around and the law is 35%. They always inspect the 2 front windows. It's not worth it and I want to change it to 35%

What are the specifications for aftermarket window tinting?
For most vehicles, aftermarket tinting that registers at least 35% on a tint meter on side windows immediately adjacent to the driver and front passenger seats, and side windows immediately to the rear of the operator and passenger, is acceptable. The rear window may be tinted to the 35% level, but the vehicle must be equipped with two outside rear view mirrors. The windshield may only be tinted down to the AS-1 line, which is usually located in the uppermost (6) inches of the windshield.

This is only a problem on E90. The sedan. The coupe essentially already has "tint protector" installed. Isn't that whack? BMW does it for the coupe but not for the sedan.

I am really interested in hearing about anyone who has chosen to "cut" instead of install moleskin. I am lazy, and if "cutting" isnt bad, I'd rather just do that.

I live in LA, it doesnt rain, no humidity, etc.

I have heard cutting the weather strip might cause damage to your door and especially its electronics if you drive with windows down or worse leave your window open. But people do it so its your call!

Did it myself, took about an hour. Not too bad, pretty straight forward. Directions come with the felt.
