crack in the windshield, need help please!
Hey guys...i know this is a probably something i should have searched but anyways...i apologize in advance.
Just on saturday afternoon i was driving on the 405 South towards the 73 south, and a rock probably decent in size hit my windshield pretty bad...and i am left with a crack probably the size of a quarter in a star like shape. long story short, im pissed . I have only had the car for 2.5 weeks. Any recommendations for glass auto repair shop in orange county area? please let me know. Thanks in advance, and sorry for not searching :/

It's happened to me twice now with only 2500 miles on the car. Was quoted $575 for a new windshield on my brand new 535i.

Sorry to hear about your windshield, and I feel your pain. I got a crack in my windshield the very first day I got my car. I paid $450 or so for a new windshield. Depending on the location of the crack, you might consider a repair using resin. I'm sure you can find someone local to repair it for $20-40. I was concerned that as soon as I got my windshield replaced, I would pick up another rock chip.

If it's a crack and star shape, don't think you can repair with resin. The crack will get longer/larger with time. Resin repair only works with dents and nicks on windshield.
Sorry about what happened and probably you have to do a replacement.

I've already replaced my windshield twice since I got my car in January. In Florida, there is Bo deductible for windshield damage. The guy came to my office an did the whole thing in about 90 minutes. I never saw the bill. He said the F10s have are coming with thinner windshields to save weight, but it makes them more susceptible to damage.
