new style 189 wheel question
Ive been thinking about replacing the front wheels in my style 189 set for a while now because they are badly scratched up and slightly bent. I found two different sites. One states they are refurbished/refinished wheels and the other doesnt.
example 1 http://www.finishlinewheels.com/BMW/...08/A-59617U20/ example 2 http://www.discount-auto-parts-store...y59617u20.html Whats with the difference in price? Is there something I'm not seeing or am not aware of? Thanks

Why not just get your current wheels refinished?

So what is different between the two besides the huge price difference?

hmm...I would look harder. See if anybody local in the forum can let you borrown some wheels. Post in the local subforum. Pay someone like 50 bucks to borrow a pair of winters.
I paid $100/wheel to get all the bends taken out, stripped down, repainted, mounted and balanced. Looks brand new (barrels and all). I had to put on new tires anyways, so in reality, I only paid ~$70/wheel to redo. Better yet, rent a car for $30 dollars for a day or two. |

Is there a difference between the two wheels i linked in the original post besides the price? Is one better quality or what?

read the links. one says OEM reconditioned the other has no mention of an OEM part Authentic OEM wheels can't be purchased for $111.00. Only way to find out is by confirming the part numbers/manufacturer on the wheels with the OEM markings. I'm sorry to say, but the advice has already been given. It's like someone insisting on asking how to remove the front bumper of their car to change angel eyes when everyone is saying just remove the wheel liner. |
