CRT-like front lip

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Gauging interest in this type of front lip.

If we can get a group buy together I have a supplier willing to make something like this for us.

EDIT:

The cost looks to be about $590 a piece right now

It will have an orange or white accent or no accent (for BSM cars or anyone who prefers it that way)

ABS can be done but they need a firm quantity to quote a price since the tooling is expensive for the ABS

The last pic on the 1M I found on the Starck site (I just added here for a visual, the quoted price is not from Starck)

I like that it doesnt flatten the bottom edge of the bumper all the way across, thus maintaining the lower line of the OEM bumper.

If it's cheap I'd buy it. I've no idea why anyone would put an expensive bit of CF down there on the most exposed area of the car!?

I would consider ... quality, fitment and price are the question .... and if it comes with a VO strip at the bottom like that ... absolutely in

Cheap is expensive in the end.

That is so true Nate!

I would really like to see some ABS parts available. I understand everyone's interest in CF, but for exposed and potentially problematic areas like this...ABS is where it's at (esp if you're considering a lowered track stance).

I'm curious to see how this would turn out. I may hold out for one similar to the revozport (linked), except in abs and w/o the adjustable portion.

Just gauging interest right now. I havent even decided what direction to go yet with the car. Once it arrives and I am settled in other things going on in my life I can better focus on the car.

Ill see if I can get pricing numbers and final word on the orange accent. I dont really anticipate doing this if it doesnt have the color accent.

Definitely in. I also like the fact that it doesn't disrupt the bumper lower line. All black for me please.

Down for it in ABS or similar damage-resistant material.

When I said cheap, I meant in comparison to CF obviously, I don't want no $20 piece of shit!

Will there be any photoshot/renderings of it on a 1M before we commit $$. My brain can't seem to visualize this on a 1M. Thanks for doing this A!!

I don't mean to be a bother, as I understand you have a life outside of here. For some reason, my brain can't seem to visualize this on a 1M. I keep visualizing it as a tongue.

No worries man, Im working on it.

I really liked it on the M3 and I like that the accent doesnt let it get lost against the asphalt. Biggest plus for me though is that it maintains the lower bumper line.

I wonder how it would look with the orange accent on a black car? Cool or just 'WTF'?
