Contiprocontact SSR a non-repairable fun-flat?

I have a nail in one of my tires. The tire place says the continental procontact SSRs that are on my car are listed as non-repairable.

Is this true?

Conti probably does not recommend repairing them, and BMW will never repair a runflat tire at their dealerships. Does this mean they can't be repaired? Well, maybe...some dealers won't do it. Primarily because they have no way of knowing if, or how far, you ran it with low or no pressure, so they don't want the liability.

If you don't know either, then it's not safe to repair it.

If you do know, and it was less than the max recommended safe operating distance, then you have to make a calculated guess -- did you damage the sidewalls running it low, did you never run it low, etc? If YOU want to take responsibility for yourself (a good thing, IMHO), then evaluate the situation and decide.

Then all you have to do is find someone who will fix the tire!

All the above does NOT apply if the nail is in or close to the sidewall, or if there is any visible evidence inside or outside the tire of delamination. In any of these cases, it's toast! Note this implies you should get the tire unmounted for repair, instead of a quickie plug with it still mounted on the rim.
