Anyways, plenty of 523i on 20"s but the smart ones will go forge or forge flow rims which are same or even lighter than stock 18".

Thx st8800,
I looked this ecu upgrade already, n this must be install after run-in engine!
Now my traget on Rays rims, but not much bother hv this in here, saw many many bother is use the US/Euro brand they are look very nice. I want to know which offset is better in use at f10? 35? Some is use 2x? Thats a much diff to 35, that's why I'm confusing in the Rays spec what they show in 35/36!!!
N where can looking for low down spring in stock at HK?
Thx a lot

Calvin

For my Forgestar F14 20":

Front is 245/35/20 x 9.5J offset +28
Rear is 275/30/20 x 10.5J offset +40

Spring stocks wise I think your fellow Hong Kong brothers can advise u better.

Don't know if this is wrong:
Even the overall weight of the aftermarket 20" is lighter than 18" OE, the acceleration of 20"wheel still will be deteriorated.
As the 20"wheel get bigger diameter of the metal(outter of the rim). And the metal is heavier the rubber. The bigger the diameter the more needed force to move(physical norm). So the inertia of 20" is much more than 18" rim.
Not to mention that the tire will be wider( more friction), which also need more power (torque & hp) to rotate...

one more things is the tires will be more flat than the OE, that mean is
the surface area to touch on tge road will be more than the OE.
any wrong pls be correct me! thx

Welcome Calvin.

mali's stuffs usually are great deal. I am on waiting list for his Morr (due to be delivered).

Forged or flow formed rims are definitely lighter than the OE rims. Even with the tires, these wheels will still be lighter. Only thing is usually we will go for wider wheels. That may affect the acceleration and fuel consumption, but on the other hand have better cornering. So give and take in my opinion.

I have never seen F10 with Rays rim. Some with BBS or Volk racing. The jap rims are so expansive now due to the HK/US dollar depreciation. That's why we usually go for US rims.

For springs, here is my take:

H&R- good stance, value for money
RD- pricy, no dealer in HK, have to order from oversea
Eibach- good price, a bit soft as some say
ACS- higher stance, cost more than Eibach and H&R

Happy modding.

Flat or not depends on how much you pump your tires. So my say is surface area for wider tires will affect the pick up and fuel consumption.

My forgestar F14 20" 9J front and 10.5J rear weight around 24 lbs each. Flowed formed. Around $16k per set. These are value for money but too many have them now. mlai's forged 1 or Morr are very nice. Cost a few more bucks but even lighter.
