Taildown and gorgeous

2 weeks ago during a trip to Germany I pulled into an autobahn gas station to gas up the rental. The 'Tankstelle' is on a 4 lane unlimited section of the Autobahn approaching Frankfurt airport.

While filling up, my attention is suddenly grabbed by the 'basso profondo' wailing of an approaching car. Too fast to see any detail, a black Mercedes passed by at something well above 250 kph but the most amazing thing was the intake and exhaust noise. Deep, dark, hard, and LOUD....highly tuned multiple cylinders at very high revs, it was way louder than anything else and literally made the hairs on my neck stand up (sad I know). Intimidating was the word that came to mind....

Hard to believe that something so loud can be legal, especially in the TUV regulated Bundeslaende, but I've never heard anything better, unleashed mechanical fury at its absolute best

I guess it was most likely a tuned 6.2 V8

Probably the best sounding engine around IMO. (if you exclude V12's)

Love Brabus...

If it was well over 250kph likely to not be a factory car unless derestricted. Brabus will go to 370kph!!
