whistling noise from the driver side mirror

I just noticed this really annoying whistling noise coming from my driver side mirror. It is actually loud enough to be noticeable when the windows are up. Pretty crazy, especially considering I dont think I heard it about a week ago. It starts at about 25 mph and goes on until about 50mph. Ive only had the car a couple of weeks, but Im not sure why it is doing this? Has anyone else heard of this?

I'd give it a quick look to make sure something isn't broken or that the front cover of the mirror (the part that's body color) is attached properly. There is at least one other guy who had a whistle too:

I had/have the same issue. First dealer fixed it by putting a little glue between the rubber window molding pieces that are located at the same height as the mirror but located on the windshield. That fixed the problem until the glue let go. The second dealer tried a more permanent fix by replacing the rubber molding, this did not work at all. I'm going to glue it again myself this time.

I have it on my 2012 X5d. It does sound annoying, but with all the other little issues I'm having with this truck, I say f**k it for now. Don't even wanna look in to it.

Unfortunately this is normal. My understanding is the euro mirrors are a different shape and do not make the noise. The noise seems to be generated by the gap between the back cover and the mirror frame. I found if i put my finger over the gap at the lower inside corner the noise stops. Probably if you fill that gap with some clear silicone, the noise will stop but I never experimented.
