Black Sapphire with Coral Red Leather 335i ordered

Placed Monday (12 December) for a 12 January build (updated 17 Dec ):

335i Sportline
Black Sapphire Metallic
19-inch Staggered Wheels
Coral Red Leather
Brushed Aluminum Trim
Coral Red Highlight
Adaptive M suspension
Variable Sport Steering
Sport Auto Transmission w/ Paddles
Heated Front Seats
Premium Package
Technology Package
Premium Sound Package

Wish me luck, as I don't yet know the lease terms, but should be a very sharp car, classic black (albeit metallic) over red. Jet Black is not available apparently until sometime in March. It'll be a nice replacement for my current 2009 bright red 335i with sport package and saddle brown interior whose lease is up March 3rd.

see UK configurator rendition pics in later post...

Thanks. It was tough because of the timing to coincide with lease end and the fact that apparently dealers here are allocated only ONE 335i near-term. I heard this from three different dealers.

won't BMW just extend your lease, since you ordered a new car?

Yes, but one needs to pay the new year's registration, which in California is around the $400 mark AND the tires might not make it much past March; they are another $1400.

And, oh yeah, I forgot... I'm impatient!

I can't wait to see a red interior up close. I have seen and liked it on the E90 but I believe it will look even better with the black headliner on the F30 Sport line. That way, you have fewer colors on the inside.

I have seen one photo where the bottom of the dash is black but on the saddle interior, the bottom is saddle color.

Does anyone know for sure if the red interior will have a solid black dash or not?

It is black overall with the aluminum trim (my choice) and coral red highlight line (also my choice). It is not red underneath like the tan interior has tan underneath. It does have red door inserts. Pics added:

Not a 335i (note single exhaust), but no Sportline in configurator for 335i in UK

The modern line has a sold tan dash that I find hideous. The luxury saddle interior looks like the sport dash on top but has saddle on the underside.

I was thinking the red interior would look like you describe or have red just on the underside. Post a photo if you find one.

Pics now included in my previous post from UK configurator (for 320D!). See above...

I recently saw a 135i with this exact combination (lesser interior styling though, of course) and it looked impressive indeed. I agree about the darker headliner, which I don't think the 135 had.

Congrats, it looks like the one I ordered with black leather . But this red looks very very nice. Just waiting what my wife says about that colour.

I also ordered the anthracite headliner. I guess that would go fine with the red interior, don't you think?

Ah, I see TiAg330i already stated the same. Sorry.

Yes the red leather would (and for me, will) look good with anthracite, which is included in my build. I updated the pics to reflect it. I prefer contrast in an interior; my wife's TT is all black inside save for aluminum highlights, but in such a small car can seem (as someone else put it) cave-like. I am looking forward to a red interior in a black car. I last had one in a 1963 Volvo 122s when I was very young.

I believe the sales manager said it was numerically "150", but on the MyBMW site it simply shows as step 01 (after "start"), "Production Begins".

The options list for the new car is incomplete as shown on that site; it doesn't show the 19 inchers, the adaptive suspension, or the variable steering. The sales manager says that this is typical, and not to worry.

Interestingly it shows my current 335 with incorrect options, too. I haven't yet looked throughout this site to see if site users also find this to be typical for either placed orders or their current vehicle. Comments welcome!

This is my fourth build-to-order out of five BMWs leased, but the anticipation is still there in spades. This time the revolutionary progress with the weight, autotranny, chassis, and efficiency, and the fact that I'm signing up for something never felt, seen, or driven, just ups the ante yet more. Thank God for the internet!
