muffler delete issues

hey whats up everyone, today i had my resonator and mufflers deleted, as soon as i left the shop i shifted into 3rd and the car felt as if it were to stall out, and then the service light came on. so i took it back to the shop, and the car was misfiring, they told me they didnt know why, most likely the lack of back pressure. ive seen other people do the same exhaust work but no problems like this, they put the stock exhaust back on and the car ran just as fine when i came in before the exhaust work. anybody know, or have the same issue? thanks

Something isn't right. Backpressure doesn't keep a car from stalling, it actually doesn't do anything helpfull... at all.
I guess is could be plugs/coil/injector and it was just coincedence when it happened. Are you sure it was a misfire? Did it throw codes?

Turbo cars do not like any restrictions after the turbo...so it shouldnt be due to the backpressure..

If you still have the Service Engine light try to scan and it see what it threw...Like rader said it could be plugs/coils/injectors but I highly doubt it since it went away when you put the muffler back on...

To be honest I'm not too sure what the issue couldve been...but maybe its a calling to buy a catback exhaust now and no more muffler delete <- just joking

The car was scanned and the misfires came up, I have the dinan flash and my fuel pump is on its way out, so that can also be a cause? Is there any dinan reps on here that would no about this?

they most likely did something to the O2 sensors, If the o2's get damaged or are not placed in correctly the car will misfire and not run like its supposed to.

Its the only logical exhaust related problem. That matches your symptoms.

Unless they were messing with the DPs then they had no need to touch the O2 sensors, but maybe they banged into them or something. But yeah, you're right thats the only thing it could be.
Either O2 sensors or it was just a coincedence and unrelated to the exhaust

Don't know what caused it but I'm almost certain that it is coincidence that it did they as soon as you took it off and then stopped when you put it back on. I haven't had mufflers on my car since day 1 and it never caused a problem like that.

+1, forgot to mention i ran a muffler delete for 2 years with no problems.

They must have tugged on an O2 or yanked one out of the clip, Then realized what they did the 2nd time around and plugged it in.

talk about over thinking something huh! lol.

OP, See if the code was regarding o2 sensor. Maybe you need a downpipe fix!

No reason you would need one, resonator and mufflers are after the o2 sensors so the car really does not know any differently.
