Today on some idle time at work I decided to read a little bit more on how LC was adjusted on the DCT M3 and methods that people used LC to give me a better idea how to implement this into the DCT 335is.

Took the car to a remote and closed off road, engaged LC when the checker flag came up and tried the cruise control lever back/forth/up/down which was a no go.

Right after I "let up off the gas pedal", while I still had my foot on the break, the RPMs dropped "extremely slow" while the checker flag was still on all the way till it got below 1500 RPMs..this was rather odd.

I feel I am on to something here. So I gave it another try but this time after releasing the gas pedal when the RPM needle drops within range of the desired launch RPM to "slightly" press back down on the gas pedal then release the brake and then I got this:

I couldnt let it rip with a camera in my hand and the really short road I was on.

I figured out after playing around that I can "HOLD" the desired RPMs by slightly pressing back down on the gas pedal without releasing the brake. It will hold for about 5 sec, before the LC is disengaged, until the break is released.

At this point you do not need to press down beyond the kick down switch until third gear. You can also "feather" the gas pedal to adjust traction and at the same time the DCS is helping also.

I will try to get more videos later on launching at various RPMs. If some is still not getting it.

Interesting, I still haven't used the LC feature once in 4k miles. Do I need to press the pedal to the kickdown button to enable the LC flag?

Yes, to the floor. You can hold it there then let off the gas pedal then slightly apply the gas pedal back again to where you want the RPM needle to stop at, then let go the brake and apply the acceleartion per your traction

Updated the OP with new videos. I renamed the old one of how to do LC on the 335is instead. The new video is more concise about the RPM launch sets

This can easily be applied on a drag strip on the light count down - just release the pedal immediately... then release brake and apply half throttle at the same time on green simular to MT foot work on starts.

Feather the throttle if needed to reduce wheel spin if needed. Each car is different and each track traction is different
