That's crazy. But I was wondering what kind of code reader it is and where did you get it?

I was afraid too thats why i have it in occasionally, I'm guessing it just my luck with the car.. but the one reason i bought it is because so many people in this forum have it! and it is a lot faster with a whole lot of performance. but i dunno since i blew up my drive train yesterday i really don't wanna touch the car till i feel a bit better.

Sammy, focus on the VANOS inlet/outlet faults. This is most likely your issue and will also create misfires. It will also cause boost faults as well.
Can your scanner say what mileage it was set at? If so were the VANOS faults and misfires set around the same time? 2 things to check here. One pull off your oil filter cap. There is supposed to be a long piece of plastic that the filter slides onto, if that is not there, this is causing your issue. If that is there its most likely your VANOS solenoids. Very easy to change if you are not in warranty |

Yeah $9,000 WOW
That costs more than all my mods put together. It'll probably cost more than all my error codes and damages.

Unfortunately thats what diagnostic equipment costs, but they do alot, other then just read codes. Plus then you have to pay another 1k+ for model year updates its crazy! $9k is nothing. One ISID for BMW is about $20,000 and most dealers have 10-20 of them.

Yea autologic tools are upwards of 30K and I believe you need to pay a yearly fee for updates aswell.
