Weird idle???

The other day, I parked my car, put the Ebrake on. Let it cool off.

The car was idling at 550rpm.

Then all of a sudden after about 1-2 minutes, it jumped to 750rpm and stayed there.

What does this mean?

Thanks guys

I have given up on trying to figure out why the 335i idles as it does. It randomly jumps from place to place if you let it sit and idle for a while...

Unfortunately, it is normal. Slight misfire at idles and it raises RPMS as a fix. My car does it every time I drive longer than say 20 minutes.

I know this doesn't help but mine has been doing this quite sometime now. I've considered it to be normal. I've had three injectors replaced, HPFP, all my plugs, and all my coil packs. Like Tzu mentioned once the car gets warmed up I notice it. I really notice when getting off the highway and get stuck at a red light for a good amount of time. I would imagine if it was a boost leak the car would throw a code. Also this happens at idle so there's no boost (maybe a little vacuum) going on during idle.

ever since i put on the intake, dp and FMIC, my car has been idling strangely.

it rarely happens, but it does. the rpms would drop close to 0 and almost stall on its own, then i guess the computer kicks in and revs it up. this is definately not normal, but the car drives fine.

thoughts?

Normal.

Large bouncing fluctuations 500 - 1500 (or higher) means you need new injectors/coils/plugs.

It doesn't bounce though. It stays at 750-800rpm and doesnt move.
