A CC can't hurt. It also keeps your intake track oil free, which on these N54 engines is a good thing. They will accumulate oil over time, high boost or not.
The Burger Motorsport or the AR catch cans are the best ones on the market.

High boost is a must for a can. I have emptied about 3/4 filled worth of oil into the red Solo party cups. That's oil would have been all over the charge pipe and my HPF intercooler. Running stock boost levels or even for those that are tuned and never going WOT that much, it's not needed. Catch cans are for the high boost junkies

High boost!!Adding a c.c will not hurt nothing in the slightest.I ran 32 psi on my evo every day with just a crank case filter(NO CATCH CAN)and it was perfect.

Please elaborate. I'm running Cobb stage 2 plus/aggressive @ 17psi. When we put the AP inter cooler on there wasn't much oil in the stock FMIC. but I just recently took off my BOV because of issues with it and it had some oil in it along with oil on my DCI from the BOV.

There was oil everywhere in the intake tract prior to being modded. Throttle body was the worst.

It's one of the e90post controversies... some people love their catch cans. Others have tried them and only had headaches. My recommendation would be to get one and if you don't like it, sell it again for a minimal loss.

If you plan on keeping the car and care about the performance with bolt on mods I think an OCC is a must have. Just be sure to get one like the BMS OCC that has large internal fittings for high flow, short lines, and mounts on the colder side of the motor.

I don't have one, I'm fbo and run a jb4 map 2 tune. I don't use oil and haven't noticed any in my ic when I was looking for boost leaks. I personally don't think it's necessary but go for it if it makes you feel better. I also dont daily drive my car or beat on it so that may have something to do with it.

Full Bolt Ons: Aftermarket Intercooler, Catless or high flow Catted Downpipes, some sort of higher flowing intake. Generally does not include exhaust, charge pipe, blow off or diverter valves, or any small modifications.
We use it to denote cars that have the big performance enhancing modifications done to them. |
