PNP or flash..need some input!
Hello! I don't want to start another war on tunes, but i've been researching different tunes the past couple days and I'd just like to get some advice. I'm looking to get a tune for about 40hp and 40tqs at the wheels (or 50/50). I have a completely stock 09 e90 6mt. I was thinking Procede or Cobb... input please!

haha, I looked into the jb+, but I want a higher quality tune just in case i want more power in the future. I've been reading about how JB doesn't tune the a/f ratios like procede does and instead relies on the car's knock sensors (or something like that). So I want to get a tune of higher quality
just wanna hear other peoples' inputs |

a tune...is a tune. it can tune whatever you want, given the tuner is smart enough

Go Cobb if you dont want to tinker to much, just run the drive or sport stage 1.

I agree that Cobb is the Easiest. I think everyone agree's with that.
If you're looking at running Meth you will want the Proceede, If you're just looking for a bump in HP the cobb will do that. And if you want to make more power at another time, which you will. You will be able to do that with the Cobb. |

I'm a huge fan of the Cobb Tunes. With the original stage 1 tune we experienced gains of 52 HP and 72 TQ over stock on our dyno in our 335i.

With COBB you don't even need to lift the hood. Takes about 15 min to upload the tune and you get the same or better power than the piggies. You won't even break a sweat

Jb4 Cobb and PROcede make more then 40WHP to the wheels (about 60-70WHP usually) so if you can live with more power then you can choose any of those tunes.

JB4. Install and removal is easy. Best part it is cheaper then the other 2 options and doesn't lock to your vin. So if you want to sell it, it would be easy as hell. Hell, you can even pick up a used one for around $400. And the best customer service ever.

COBB doesn't vin lock either...
OP, you should contact Jeff@Topgearsolutions about this purchase. He's great to deal with, sells all three tunes mentioned here, and has great prices and awesome service. |

Yes. The seller must unmarry it from the car... by clicking uninstall. I can't really imagine that many members on here would cheat someone like that...

They simply modify the signals in each their own way. The COBB flash is the easiest way to go, but I prefer the JB4 for methanol injection, the dash features, custom boost targets per RPM, gear-based boost limiters, and easier logging ability. |

The method and targets of the air fuel ratios between the tunes is very controversial but they all seem to perform quite well regardless. |

Hrm Cobb seems to be getting a lot of positive feedback. Without having an iron foot, has anyone gotten more mpg with cobb? It seems as though a lot of people say running procede gives them better mpg. I need to do some more research on Cobb specs...
