BMW 640d M Sport.....

It's now officially ordered; 640d M Sport in Carbon Black with Ivory White Dakota Leather. Only options to go with the already generous spec are; DAB Radio, Telephone USB Audio Interface and Dark Poplar wood trim. Should be hear in about 8 weeks, so will be delivered to me mid - end March.

Very happy with the price they are giving me for the 120d, and it matched my expectations. I feel they have really pushed the boat out in getting my business and I think it has paid dividends being a regular customer over the last 7 years.

I still can't believe what a good deal this is, two years in a £67K car for the money I would have paid on a finance package for a much lesser car of half the price. They are also proving very popular on the PCH campaign, the dealer I use is only a small(ish) family run BMW dealership in the rural Lakes and they have sold three in the last two weeks with the likelihood of a couple more in the next 7 days! There is even someone else on the Forum who has been in touch with them (not sure who ), as a result of some of my comments, and them getting another lead from me has enhanced my stock with them

I am going to try and get the iPhone 4 media cradle at a discounted price (£118 RRP) you would think it would be included (!), if I get a good deal on their Contract Hire GAP I may use that a bargaining chip to get the cradle thrown in!

The 120d is going next week, I agreed this to get the best price, so it is trains and walking for me now

And two years with the same car, that will be a novelty

Nice one Pete, they look friggin' stunning, especially in that combination. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh in the near future.

I just wish I was in a position to take advantage of the deal they are knocking about at the minute, but alas, not - I'll just carry on slumming it

Nice one Peter - that is one super motor. To think we were getting excited about SLK200s not so long back, pah not a patch on this!

Ivory looks super. Going back to your earlier question, carbon & cinnamon looked fab on my M3, no clash at all with the blue tint, but Ivory also looks great and suits it very well.

Congrats, Peter; a beautiful looking car with a fabulous specification and a great choice - I'm sure you'll be delighted with it.
I would definitely consider one Of those myself, if I want tied into the C63 for another 22 months!

Mission creep, yet again! I was desperately trying to be sensible wih the 120d, telling myself I didn't need anything else. Then the threads on the SLK. 200 AMG auto Sports started, that got me looking, then went onto C Class Coupe, then E Class, swiftly followed by TTs and A5s.....

Bloody Internet .....

Peter

Congratuations! they are beautifully built cars. I drove one on Saturday, it felt really fast, faster than 5.5 to 60 imo and it doesnt sound much like a diesel to me, my M6 at idle sounded rougher than that lol and for approx 500 a month it represents amazing value if you can handle the low mileage if not the penalties are quite high imo.

My problem is two fold

1) ill probbably do 25000 miles this year which isnt really an issue thinking about it ill just claim more mileage,
2) my main worry is what do i buy in 2 years without feeling like im driving a shitbox? The interior quality on these cars is amazing so im going to have to be lucky and hope there is another cracking PCH deal out or spend 1000 a month or lower my expectations.

Whats your take on this mate?

The 8 week wait will be excruciatingly slow what with having to use public transport

Worth it though. Congratulations!

My thoughts are the same as Steve, clearly this is a cheap way to get into a great car but in two years it may take a lot more cash to get back to similar.

Guess you just have to take it for now and hope in two years the manufacturers are still desperate to shift top end metal and are still subsidising them.
