Mangled E92

Taking a look through Copart's website and say this mangled E92.

Nothing hugely interesting about the car itself but look at the rear end!!! It's totally destroyed and yet, the rear of the passenger compartment and the seats are completely fine!

Interesting just how well designed cars are these days, it would have been a different story not so long ago.

Impressive as thats a substantial impact.
When I see kids travelling in the rear of mpv/estate cars with the extra seats fitted, you have to question how safe they are-sitting in what is in effect the vehicles crumple zone.
Shows how vulnerable we can be in our tin boxes-especially on motorways...

I'd have been hoping for a bit more airbag action myself, had I been inside it.

Noticed that, wondered if the car was parked up or something.

Not a bad price that, could get that for the wheels. But yes, reassuring about the inside staying relatively intact.

As part of a course a few weeks ago,I watched a video of a truck colliding into the rear of another that had stopped due to congestion.
The 'offending' truck driver was out of the game having left his head imprinted on the rear of the stationary Wagon.
However, none of the emergency services noticed for quite a while, that before he hit the rear of this wagon,he had pulverised an old mini with a husband and wife inside which had also stopped between the two.
No crumple zones, airbags or any real safety measures in the mini-we have come quite far in a short amount of time to give occupants and pedestrians a fighting chance.
