Fbo mods whats next????
Hey guys so a couple other guys up here are already full bolt ons as well as me here are a list of my performance mods
-HPF 3\" FMIC -AR 3\" catless dps -Berk resonated mids -Eisenmann race muffler -Cpe 3\" chargepipe -Injen dual ram air intake - ESS stage 1 tune Currently have a rogue engineering ssk comming in from IND and am looking for another mod to do. I am really interested in coilovers but i might just want to do new turbos I put this thread up here for general/ more discussion on mods for the community. FBO guys can list there mods up here and everyone can contribute!!! |

Why you posting in the 1m engine and tuning subforum? Should probably be in the regular n54/n55 section. Not that I'm complaining, everything I know about our motor I've learned from that section. You'll probably get a lot more replies if you post there though.

Meth, Nitrous, upgraded twins or wait for singles to start dropping.
Would suggest first going coilovers, pads/fluid/SS lines or a BBK. Lighter wheels would also make a big difference. Seeing that you're driving a 135i, stiffer sways would also help.

Ha sorry but im driving a VO 1m havnt updated my profile the 135 has been gone for a couple of months now the reason for this thread is because there are no FBO 1ms that i have seen up here and im really the first one posting. I wanted to see what others were doing as well as just starting discussion

Sorry robertm and scnertz but i dont see enough engine mods being done i had a fbo 08 135i with meth and have been with this engine since it was developed my problem is no ones really running meth or anything. Ess has kind of dissapoited with no update and i need more power didnt no i was being criticized on where i posted. Also considering it is about 1ms

So when your fbo which it seems like is taking u a bit of time go install those mods instead of patroling the forums IMO bc i alrdy installed all mine by myself. Well i lied i got my dps installed sry ill prob be doing aquamist meth soon by myself of course

If I were you I would just switch to JB4 + the quick mount meth kit. Has an integrated fail safe and uses your windshield washer tank. You will easily gain a minimum of 30tq/30hp.

I wasn't criticizing on where you posted, just suggesting mods based on what car you had listed, try rereading my post.
Are you looking to only up the power, or are you looking to improve the overall package? Have you tried looking outside of the 1er forums, plenty of guys are running meth among other mods. For the mods you have listed the next logical step would be meth, and beyond that nitrous and upgraded snails (like what I originally posted...) Another option is that you can rip the block apart and rebuild with upgraded internals like some others are doing, though not really necessary yet since the fueling limitations haven't been overcome yet and power levels haven't hit a point necessitating it. You could also do what some guys in south africa are doing and replace the DI with port injection and run the whole thing on a standalone; That would allow you to run an upgraded single too. Enough options yet? fyi I have gone FBO on my previous 1er as well, and have done all the installs myself. The power upgrade path for this car is not much different from any other 1er/3er N54 car, especially once you've gone to the point of being FBO or close to it.
