I'm on the North Shore, although Bababooey, I do have a friend who works in Canton. The cable I have is just a standard OBDII cable though, that I use for coding. I believe it can be used for diagnostics too, it's just more complicated than something like the Bavarian Technic one. If you know how to use Inpaload I'd be happy to lend you the cable via my friend.

Thanks for the offer, but that sounds a little too technical for me! With my luck I'd mess something up....

OP sorry for the hijack!

checked bentley.....generic p0204 = 2E33 injector circuit/open cylinder 4
this doesnt sound like ignition coils nor spark plugs as these two are very common and codes are well known on e90post.com but it doesnt hurt to check your ignition coil (#4).
I'll say you have a bad injector or a bad wire/connection. Try to do some searches here to see if anyone else have the same issue...good luck

did a google search

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- Engine hesitation
Possible causes
- Fuel Injector 4 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 4 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty fuel injector
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
P0204 BMW Description
Engine Control Module (ECM) checks the injectors circuit resistance and monitors the voltage drop during normal operation. The ECM will trigger the P0204 code when the resistance or voltage drop at the injector 4 is out of specifications.
When is the code detected?
The P0204 is set if the Engine Control Module (ECM) is detects a low or high voltage drop or resistance at the injector 4.
