Absolutely typical!!
So this year, for the first time, I decided to give winter tyres a go......ever since they were fitted we've barely had a frost, let alone snow....
Yesterday, first snowfall of the year and...... my car in for service and I was driving round in a loaner!!!!! I was given a 120i coupe and its not bad.....but have to say that the engine seems to display all the traits I hated in my 320i. Power delivery really is weird and seems to be working on 3 different maps depending on how high you rev it, and no smooth transition from one to another... Apart from that the 1'er coupe is quite a nice drive. Wife said she liked it a lot so I guess its right for the target market.....!!

I loved one 1er coupe, very chuckable and felt like it was more wrapped around me compared to the E92.

Agreed. Mate of mine has a 135i and it feels really tight and planted. This one handles OK too, its just the engine.......

Don't want to go off subject but...
I know what you mean.. £800's worth of rubber is a lot of sex! Put my rubbers (wintrac extreme) on at the start of November. Warmest November in history! December down as the warmest for a long time (dunno how many years)... January has a bit of frost. Now I'm I'm in bleedin' Sweden (deep snow and -14c) and the beemer is at Heathrow. News on the telly say's there's lots of snow in the UK . F'ing marvelous! Enjoy yourselves...!

I think I can beat that:
New car ordered for December delivery, so sorted a 2nd set of rims and winter tyres... which are still sat here waiting for delivery of the car that might just be here this month.

The average UK winters are not consistently cold enough to make winter tyres a necessity. The last 2 winters being a little colder than normal has made people over react.
Still, hopefully we will get the normal day or two of heavy snow so at least you can all look smug and point and laugh at me walking |

Just finished putting my winters on.Haven't needed them throughout last year, but as the temperatures are consistently low,I thought I'd give the 19's a rest.
And I'd look a mug struggling in the morning if we do have a downfall, with a set of winters in the shed! |

Mine was left in my mates work shop overnight having various bits done to it including the winter tyres going on and whilst it was in there it started to snow. That was when it was really bad about 14 months ago. Dead jammy.
Never drove in snow or realy icy roads on normal tyres. |
