Towbar Mounted Cycle Carriers

Anyone have any experience with towball mounted bike carriers?

I need to carry up to three bikes including a kids bike and have a detachable Westfalia towbar.

I've been drawn to the Thule range but is there a better product out there?

Cheers.

The Thule kit is very good, if expensive.

I use a cheapo carrier of Italian manufacture, which is good enough for my needs. It will squeeze on 3 bikes at a pinch, but is designed for 2 with hooks & rubbers for securing the crossbar. The bikes can rub, so I pad out with pipe insulation on the forks/swing arms etc. The number plate board is strapped on with bungee cords, but note if you do this, don't mount the board at handlebar level - the associated wind resistance is noticeable!
