Can BMW differentiate tunes?

Can BMW tell the difference between Dinan vs GIAC vs Cobb tunes? Or is it all Greek to them?

Yes....Dinan tune has a version code and dealer code ie the dealer code who flashed it and Dinan code followed by 1.9, 2.0, or 2.1 for S1, S2, or S3

However this is only if they are being sceptical and decide to look it up. An exclusive Dinan dealer will know right off from pulling data.

If you have Dinan mods then more than like they, the BMW Dealer, will just assume the software is Dinan even though the software may be Cobb, or Giac which all depends on how their software shows up.

If Giac and Cobb show up with their names clearly on the flash then your busted. If the flash info is coded then there is a strong chance the dealer make take it for Dinan.
