New member here saying hi and...Please Read

Hello everyone!

I just bought my E90 2008 335xi sedan 6MT with Sports Package, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, 32,xxx miles.

I just ordered the Cobb and the BMS DCI...

My question is what to do next??? I've heard intercooler...if so which one and why?

My goal is to have the healthiest and fastest E90 I can have...

Any advise would be highly grateful!!!

Thanks! Scott

Any of the currently available upgraded intercoolers are WAY better than the stock one. ETS, Helix, AMS, AA, STETT and a many more. Many consider the Helix to be the best, but no real testing has been done to verify this.

Along with the intercooler you'll also need a set of downpipes, CP-e, AA, AR, and VRSF are the most common and there's no bad choice.

PM Jeff@topgearsolutions and he'll give you very unbiased advice and get you what you need

A Procede/PWM meth combo will run healthier (larger margin of safety against knock) and stronger (410whp with just DCIs) than any other option short of running full bolt-ons on good 93+oct fuel. Before you get too far along on the modification process, carefully assess where you eventually want to end up because. Luckily all tunes have a trial period. I suggest taking advantage of it

Cheers,
shiv

You get a certain time period to try out a tune and see what works best.

You made a good choice by going with Cobb, next you will want to go intercooler and dp's to get you to the next stage. There are plenty of reviews for inter coolers on here, a simple search will get you some answers quick. Also look to see if there are any group buys going on.

Then order an intercooler
It all how much you want to spend/cut. I ordered an ETS 5" and am VERY satisfied with it, especially since it bolted right in place with no cutting/trimming.
If you've got the cash the should also go ahead and order a set of downpipes so you can run stage 2+, which will run just as strong as a procede+meth car

By the response I'm getting and the expertise of Jeff over at TopGearSolutions I am confident I won't be returning the Cobb.

Muhaha pics and vids will be posted along the transformation...

Check this out...I brought her in for a clunk I was getting in 4/5/6 gear between 1000-1800 RPM...felt like a misfire or a slip w/out rev...possible to be fuel injectors or fuel pump (although already replaced)

My guess was carbon build up ( I know your saying "carbon build up at 34k no way..) My 02 M5 had it at 90...The shop forman called me yesterday and said there was build up in the intake manifold...I said "ONCE A YEAR OIL CHANGES WILL DO THIS"...regardless of whether "Warranty" gives you oil changes every 3-5k...DO IT...it pays...

I win in the end...they are doing the $800 repair under warranty and when I get her back Tuesday I should have the Cobb and BMS DCI to install (Will post pics and vids)...

Yeah, these cars need to be maintaned above and beyond what BMW recommends. If you're already at 34K miles i'd go ahead and get you're spark plugs changed. See if you can get the dealer to do it under warranty

Slow down buddy haha
Dont start buying things before doing reasearch.
You said yoh want good reliable and healthy power, and Shiv is right meth is tour best option.
All you need is a tune meth and dci (I also highly recommend downpipes to reduce stress on the turbos) thats over 400 whp, theres no need for an intercooler since you have meth,

Now you went with cobb, doesnt have meth integration...which is why some have mentioned the return option, but it depends on you.
You can make healthy power without meth, but its a lot more mods and much more expensive.

So...Procede with meth is a cheaper and healthier option?

In this order bro, you won't be disappointed.
1) tune-JB4,Cobb, Proceed
2) intake-dci,Mr5
3)dps-ms,ar,aa
4)meth kit-JB, proceed
5)intercooler-? Not sure which one just do your homework first.

I have Jb4, Macht schnell downpipes, dci, and ww meth kit. I made 420+ rwhp on 91 oct.
