Is this wastegate rattle or something else? (video)

Started about ~10k miles ago, recently gotten worse. So loud it's damn embarrassing.

Would love to be able to do something about it. Engine at idle is louder than a BMW engine should be...

I'm thinking it might be the ticking of the DI injectors, but I don't understand why it's gotten louder...

I had a conversation with the tech at BMW about this exact noise. He said its because of the high pressure fuel system (DI Injectors) and having to run so rich during warm up idle....it does quiet down after a bit, once idle returns to 650, no?

I have a ticking that is similar but not as loud. I don't think it's wastegate related.

Definitely not wastegate rattle... Normal on these engines i believe, but yours does sounds louder than normal. I believe i read elsewhere it's the injectors...

i have exactly same sound and i don't know what it is
i just ignored it because i still have two more years for my warranty
so if something happened to my car i will take it to bmw

if you have any new details tell me please

Bump for ideas on making it quieter. Can I add some fireproof dynamat to under the engine cover? I know it has some padding under there already.

that sounds normal. These cars do make this type of noise.

wastegate rattle only occurs when you let go off the gas. This is the sound of the injectors firing.
