Lease Considerations for 1st bimmer

hi all, first time bimmer owner to be here looking to pick up the 335 within the week. Are there any lease considerations I should be sure of? I'm pretty educated on how lease programs work but wanted to know if timing or another factor should be different for the bimmer as I'm getting one at beginning if its cycle. I'm probably doing a 36 mo 15k mi. Based on past cycles does that put me on track for the mid-life refresh of the F30? would it be better to do a 30 mo (would tires be in ok condition?)

Also what is the experience like w/ finance? anything I should consider purchasing that they try to sell? Normally I would pick up the damage waiver for peace of mind and that's it. Previously an MB owner so I had to turn down maintenance.

Anything else I need think of?

thanks

36 months is a good idea. Im only doing 30 months, because of my high mileage.

Agree on a good price. You should be able to get $1000 or less over invoice.

any thoughts on what happens at finance and what I'm going to have to turn down? Also what's the damage waiver like on bimmers? At MB i should've declined cause when they grounded my car they barely did an inspection, didn't look a the tires, and I got off with $170 in damages when it should've been over $1k! could've been the sales guy was lazy. are bmw inspections picky when they ground them?

it depends on the dealership and/or the salesman. hard to say, but i don't like insurance and rather roll the dice.

Finance lady(who was very nice) offered me 2 main packages(like my 12th car from them so im used to it) i passed on the protection thing where the wont mind of there is a scratch or ding.

But i did get the tire and rim protection for $1,000(was $399 when i got my 07 N54) Added like 25 bucks to the payment, and is well worth it imo. These tires are 400 a pop and if you get a nail, throw it away. I have gotten my monies worth in the past and intend on using it in the future. with the tire insurance they give you new tire for free when you get a nail...I never paid for tires on my N54's

Probably on a 328i, but 335i models are in very short supply and pricing will be less flexible.

36 Month put down 3,000 if you can and 12,000 miles per year. You will get a pretty attractive lease and then you can probably negotiate 60bucks off a month

cool. i understand the insurance.. but does this take the place of having to replace the tires at end of lease as well? also is that $1000 negotiable?

thanks

AFAIK, no. It's hazard insurance for rims & tires. But, if you end up getting 1 or more new tires as part of this, it may mean less tires to replace at turn in.

If you have money to put up front, I would put that into multiple security deposits (MSDs) to lower the MF.

Same happened to me when I got my X5 3 years ago and went for a lease. I didn't take the protection (and my pre-inspection a few weeks ago turned out fine, so if nothing bad happened, it's all good). And, like you, I did take the tire and rim protection.

I never needed the tire and rim protection in the end, which is kind of a wonder seeing all the potholes here in Hawaii, but just because of that, I did take it. My wife's M had expensive aftermarket rims (originally 14K for the set from what I heard (she got it before I was with her lol)) and it actually contains 2 dents because of the potholes (still wonder if that can be removed, we still have the rims and it would be cool to put them on my wife's F30 (if she gets one)), so we didn't want to take any chances. I never needed it but I am still happy I took it

ended up getting the tire/wheel coverage for $1189. they wouldn't budge on that. I also declined the wear & tear after talking about it w/ the sales manager. with this nice of a whip I'm going to want to fix things as they happen and not let damage linger until the end of lease.

I'm kind of wondering.. anyone knows if they offer a similar coverage for cars that are being bought as well, or is it lease only? I kind of would want to have it if they offer it for bought cars, especially because of all the potholes here.

Yes the wheel and tire insurance they offer is available for leased or purchased cars. Price depends on the amount of years you want coverage for.

$350 a year to insure your wheels and tires. I love it!
