Is Remus worth it?

I already have the AA catless DPs so is the Remus sport/race worth it? I love the quad look but I'm a bit wary about the sound. I don't want to be the one who turn a BMW's growl into a that occasional Honda Civic you hear with the exhaust as big as my head.

Another thing I love about the quad is that I'll have to get the Mtech bumper with the sick CF diffuser . Pretty sure I'm using the exhaust as justification for buying the bumper.

If the bumper is all you want, get it and get some quad tips welded to your current exhaust.

Haha I really do want the remus, but like I said wary about the sound and I don't really trust the youtube clips so i want some input here. The bumper is just a plus that comes with it, the car looks fine right now so I don't want to get a new bumper for no reason.

I've never heard one in person, but from the clips I've seen the Remus exhaust note isn't whiney at all; if anything, I'd say it borders more on exotic.

Remus > all other exhausts (at least for sound and looks, not too sure about performance since its only an axle back)

A PM by madmanhiker convinced me, I'm going to look for a good deal on the mtech bumper and order the diffuser and remus after it's installed. Hopefully someone sells the remus exhaust used here in that time so I can get it slightly cheaper

Initially I was debating whether I wanted to quad look and I leaned towards getting the remus exhaust as well. I think if you're concerned about noise, remus has a pretty good note. No drone and just very throaty sound. Overall I wouldn't be concerned with the sound. Remus sounds sick, if anything, it's one of the better sounding exhaust IMO. Anyway whichever exhaust you do end up with good luck.

Don't worry man, the Remus axle-back will NOT turn your BMW into a damn Civic, not even possible. Remus gives you a nice deep growl, you'll love it. Just do a quick search on youtube. As far as the rear bumper goes, you can use your stock bumper. Some cutting is needed, but the overall look isn't that bad.

Here's a picture of mine, Remus Sport with stock bumper, cut to make it fit:

So what is the difference between quads and dual pipes? Is the sound different?

Hmm as far as I know there is no difference, it's mainly a visual preference imo but I'm no expert. Besides remus only comes with quads

The Remus Exhaust system is only available in the quad setup. The more popular choice would be the Remus US Sound Race exhaust. The Remus system will make the car a more aggressive and throatier note (will not sound like a Civic). Here are a couple pictures and videos for you to check out!

The exhaust from those videos are from a N55. Might sound different with a N54 that OP has. I would buy with caution

I saw a clip with a n54, it sounded pretty good actually. But we'll see, I'm about to put in a order in a few days and I'll post up pics and a video when it's installed.

i came from a subaru sti this is my first bmw i have the remus race with ar down pipes i really do like it a lot. Every one had a different view of what loud is and i don't think this is at all start up is a bit loud but that about it thats with any exhaust on this car It really depends how u drive it how loud it will be.

I am also a fan of carbon diffusers with the m tech bumper there are a few options it will give me the over all look I'm going for.
