R26.R - Bedford Track Day

Carlos and i took the R26.R to Bedford on Saturday - the morning was dry (ish) but very windy and then it bucketed down after lunch - but we had a good giggle anyway and the R performed faultlessly - the brand new R888's even held up well in the wet which surprised me - nothing came past us all day and we even managed to embarrass an R8 and a Porker Turbo a few times - can't wait to take the R to Spa in April and then the Ring - not sure if you will be able to view the quick video link but its just a few minutes of in-car footage and here are a couple of pics showing just how wet it got!!

Very good Steve, glad there were no nasty surprises on your maiden voyage (it was wasn't it). Palmbollocks was trying to rope me into the 'ring trip at the weekend; I had to explain to him it wasn't so easy with a young family at home (maybe he could carry the kids in the Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag) .

I think he'll get it next time . Don't think there's anyone in the UK offering it now but must be a way (can you buy it out there??).

Stevie mate, thanks for the great day!!!! The R26R with the titanium exhaust sounds like a fighter jet.

Was good fun passing everyone.

I have to say, the Reno was quick!!!

Nice one Steve. Was with Dom on Saturday and he mentioned you were going to be at Bedford. Glad the car is living up to expectations.

My pleasure, always great to have you as my co-pilot! Your M3 looked lovely too, still love those cars and what a lot of motor for the money! Im going to look at booking either Snetterton 300 or Cadwell for around April time if you fancy joining with the M3? If not, you are always welcome to co-pilot again!! Speak soon amigo.

Yep, spoke to Dom the day before i think for a catchup and asking how things were, such a nice bloke. We must try and get a beer in soon. As for the R26.R i would actually go as far as to say its one of the few cars ive ever owned that not only lives up to its formidable reputation but actually exceeds it - incredible bit of kit and again such a lot of car for the money considering some of the exotica we were not only keeping up with but passing!!

It's an M5 touring and it's his dads rather than his so he doesn't get to drive it that much.

That said I'm still in for pics

Great vid - sounds phenominal.
Looking forward to seeing/hearing it in the metal - I'm going to try and organise a run out over the "Evo Triangle" roads when the weather is a little more reliable - I think your machine would be devsatating round those roads.

Looks like you both had a good day out Steve despite the weather.

Good video, but tell me,have you lost your mojo, was it the lack of bikes on the track, or did the video not tell the whole story?

In comparison to the laps around the ring I sat in on a few yrs back which defied the laws of physics, and nearly required a change of underwear, the drive in that vid looked like a Sunday drive around Richmond park
