Vishnu/FFTEC Single Turbo POV: Backroad fun
Update: Daytime testing video!
By now, everyone has a pretty good idea on how hard the car pulls in a straight line on the highway. Far more entertaining is how it drives on a backroad. Just got my alignment this morning (after the whole front subframe was dropped during the turbo install). So this was the first time I actually got to have real fun with the car on a road. Needless to say, all my usual shift/braking points were way off. Kinda embarrassing. But heaps of fun! And the engine/exhaust note sounds glorious. Procede traction control is fully disabled. So are all the BMW traction nannies. The midrange torque is so stout and controllable that it's really easy to balance the car with the throttle. Of course, power is enormous so the rear of the car gets airborne if you give it too much throttle over bumps. But that's really the fun part. Power delivery is so smooth and predictable. Got to be the easiest 700bhp 2wd car to flog on a dark backroad while trying to avoid deer. I'll try to record some more backroad fun tomorrow, in the daylight, when i can push the car a bit harder. The point of view was really cool! Great vid Shiv!
Really weird seeing the car rev through the gears like that bc im used to the 6MT stock shift points/power delivery.. Kinda freaks me out how well your able to control and modulate the throttle during turns...especially with this type of power and how hard it hits..great driving skills! please please take me for a ride this wkend I'll bring my gopro

Looks like fun. Do you monitor EGT while tuning and is it possible to run straight E85 with your fuel solution? Seems like you found a way to make the fuel system capable of producing massive volume (saw your first dyno attempt with your single setup, aiming for mid 10s AFR near redline). That would be awesome for everyone who want to stick with stock turbos (and their fast response from down low)

Mexico is beautiful this time of year You should take that beast to the mountains to see how it performs at 7,000 ft.

You can read boost, AFR, ign adv and IAT on the gauges. So the temp gauge is reading something other than boost
