clay question

sooo i took my car to get repaired a few months ago and i guess my car got over sprayed or something i dont know but in certain types of lighting you can see a different color like a browish and when i run my figers over it, its not smooth at all i dont feel like dealing with the body shop since its been 4 months and its finally gotten me mad so will clay take it off? i just didnt want to waste money on buying the kit if it wont work...thanks in advance guys...

p.s. im sure this was discussed about 3242343 times but none of the threads really answered my question...so save your bashing for another fool

Clay will make it smooth and it really isn't that expensive, more time consuming. But if it's overspray it probably won't get that off. Of course...

I'm sure George will pop in with a good answer though.

I have removed overspray before w/clay but the overspay was on the car for a couple of weeks.Give it a try and use lubricated water with 25% car soap to 75% water in a spray bottle.

Or just buy QD and don't make your own. Go to advanced or whatever auto store you have and get the Mothers or Meguires clay kit. Comes with clay, QD and a really good MF towl for $20. That will take care of your car real good.

If you want to, sure, but it's not necessary.

Wash w/dawn, dry, clay, polish(once or twice depending on the products you are using), sealant, wax. Take your time too if it's your first time doing the entire process. You'll be able to do it faster the 2nd time if you learn everything right the first time haha.
