Modding questions!

I have a few dilemmas that are preventing me (mentally) from modding my 335xi.

So far, it's completely stock. I have a few options:

1: Mod it now (COBB AP first, DP, DCI, etc etc shopping list)

2: Wait to see what will become of the single turbo upgrades.

3: Do nothing, because it's still under warranty.

Any ideas? 2 and 3 are kind of the same, for now.

Get a tune and by the time you're ready for your next mod, maybe you'll know if you can afford / want a single turbo kit.

Keep in mind that a turbo kit will cost a lot... It's not just bolting on a turbo and tune. You need supporting intake and exhaust mods, differential, suspension, and likely wider tires... If you are willing to pay for damages (usually minimal if any)/maintenance required with tuning, go for it. You got to pay to play.

Yep, it's not just engine mods at that kind of power, and the AWD drivetrain hasn't even been tested for such insane horsepower levels yet. Everything that extra power runs through would need to be strengthened. The stock suspension would rock the car back like crazy under that kind of horsepower. It'd be like an old fashioned muscle car that would be near impossible to control. 700 horsepower on 225 wheels is unthinkable. I'd be eating through tires left and right, if I'm not already sideways in a wall.

I made this thread with my mental estimate of the single turbo upgrade costing about 5x as FBO. Not sure, though.

Why wait. Enjoy the car while you have it. You never know what tomorrow will bring. I've had many situations where I contemplated on waiting for tunes or performance upgrades (superchargers/turbo's) and they fell through and I would have waited/wasted months or even years.

I always tell people mod your car for today, yes its great to plan ahead when its feasible, but in this industry I would never wait on companies or empty promises.

As far as warranty, we are all under warranty or were at some point even modded. These cars are fairly young and plenty are modded under warranty. You just need to realize and understand your relationship with your dealer and if its feasible in that regards.
